Once a traditional island house, Rafica has been carefully restored to preserve its original Dalmatian character while offering the comfort of modern living.
The house is over 100 years old and was renovated with great care, keeping as much of its original spirit as possible. Stone walls, wooden floors, real wood doors, traditional shutters and warm rustic details give the house a feeling that is authentic, personal and full of character.
Rather than feeling like a typical new villa, Rafica keeps the charm of an old island home — thoughtfully restored, comfortable and made for guests who want to experience the slower rhythm of life on Dugi Otok.
Life here moves at a quieter pace, shaped by the simplicity of island living and the calm atmosphere of Božava.
Mornings can begin slowly on the terrace, afternoons can be spent by the pool, and evenings are made for the jacuzzi, the sauna or simply enjoying the view towards the sea, harbour and surrounding islands.
The house is designed to feel easy and comfortable — a place where you can slow down, settle in and enjoy privacy without feeling far from the village or the sea.

Inside the house
Rafica offers 105 m² of indoor space, arranged to feel comfortable, warm and practical for a relaxed island stay.
The ground floor brings together the living area, kitchen and dining space, creating an easy place to spend time together after the beach, during quiet evenings or on slower days at home. The interior combines exposed stone, wood, soft lighting and colourful details that give the house its distinctive character.
The kitchen and dining area are designed for simple, relaxed meals — from breakfast before exploring the island to dinner after a long day by the sea. The living area offers a cozy place to rest, read, watch a film or enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning stove during cooler months.
The house has two bedrooms, both with 160 × 200 cm beds. The rooms are designed with natural textures, warm lighting and details that keep the feeling of the old stone house alive.
There are two bathrooms and one additional guest toilet, offering practical comfort for families or couples sharing the house.
Outdoor & wellness spaces
The outdoor spaces are one of the main highlights of Rafica.
The private courtyard includes a 5 × 3 m outdoor pool, sun loungers and space for quiet summer days in complete privacy. The courtyard also includes an outdoor barbecue area, perfect for relaxed meals outside.
For wellness moments, the house offers a Finnish sauna with heated stones, as well as a hot tub located on the terrace. The hot tub is available throughout the year, making it a special feature not only in summer, but also during quieter spring, autumn or winter stays.
From the terrace, guests can enjoy views over the harbour and the open sky. In the evening, the space becomes a calm place to unwind, watch the lights of the village and enjoy the starry sky.
Comfort through the seasons
The home is equipped for comfortable stays throughout the year.
During the warmer months, air conditioning is available in the living area, kitchen and both bedrooms. Wi-Fi is available in the house, making it easy to stay connected, plan your days on the island or work remotely if needed.
For cooler days, the wood-burning stove brings warmth and atmosphere to the living space. Firewood can be prepared when needed during the winter season.
Guests also have access to a washing machine, which is especially practical for longer stays, as well as thoughtful details such as a wine cooler and a telescope for enjoying clear island nights.
Practical information
The house is located in Božava, in the centre of the village, while still offering a calm and private atmosphere.
The sea is approximately 150 m from the house, and nearby bays and swimming spots around Božava can be reached on foot.
Parking is available near the entrance to the village, around 180 m from the house. Guests can drive closer to the property to unload luggage before parking.
Minimum stay is 4 nights.
Check-in is from 16:00 to 23:00.
Check-out is from 06:00 to 10:00.
Smoking is not allowed inside the house. Parties, bachelor and bachelorette groups are not permitted.
Pets may be considered on request, but only by prior agreement.
